Our History

Maroondah Veterinary Clinic has a long history of serving the Croydon area and beyond. The clinic was established in 1969 by Dr Jenkins. Back then, Croydon was mostly rural, so Dr Jenkins spent most of his time caring for farm animals. Treating small animals and household pets was only a small fraction of the clinic’s daily work.

Dr Denis Oliver and Dr Roger Clarke purchased the clinic in 1972. Dr Oliver operated the practice as the principal veterinary surgeon for the next 34 years until Dr Paul Sammartino purchased the clinic in 2006. Dr Oliver continued as a valued and dedicated member of the Maroondah Veterinary Clinic team until his retirement in 2017.

Today, Maroondah Veterinary Clinic no longer sees horses, cattle or sheep. However, we employ three veterinary surgeons and ten veterinary nurses to provide full-service veterinary care for the fluffy, furry and feathered members of your family.
